Weather Update: The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) predicts that there is an increase in rainfall activity. However it is likely to be accompanied with heavy precipitation anticipated over eastern regions of India, and active monsoon conditions are likely to prevail throughout most of northwest India. Moreover, heavy rainfall has been predicted in many states of Jharkhand and Bihar including the capital cities of both the states i.e. Patna and Ranchi. There are forecasts for light to moderate showers in Mumbai and the Mumbai Metropolitan Region (MMR). The Indian Meteorological Department has issued a yellow signal, indicating that light to moderate rain is predicted in Delhi, today. IMD forecasts for the capital city of Uttar Pradesh, Lucknow that it may start out partly cloudy and turn into a generally cloudy sky by the afternoon or evening.

According to IMD, there's a good chance of heavy to extremely heavy rainfall in certain areas of Rajasthan and Gujarat. Meanwhile, heavy rainfall is expected in some areas of Jammu, Kashmir, Ladakh, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Punjab, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, West Bengal, and Sikkim. The same is predicted in the parts of Odisha, Assam, Meghalaya, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, Goa, Maharashtra, Kerala and Karnataka, according to the India Meteorological Department.
